The brief

Robots that have to be soft on the outside.

Putting motors and electronics inside plush changes the problem. Fabric traps heat, and parts have to stay put inside a soft shell that kids handle every day.

What we did

How we approached it.

Several platforms

Engineering work across bipedal, quadruped and wheeled robots.

Heat and retention

Designed around the heat trapped by plush and kept internal parts retained inside a soft exterior.

Mechanical and electrical

Developed the mechanical structure and the electrical systems together.

Prototypes

Built and tested functional prototypes, and showed them at events.

The result
3robot platforms: bipedal, quadruped, wheeled
Plushenclosures with heat and retention limits
Workingprototypes built and tested
