How we work

Our product development process: clear steps and a cap on every phase.

You always know what is next, what it should cost and the most it can cost.

Step 1 · FreeEstimate

Send a brief or a few sentences. Within 3 business days you get a one-page estimate: the phases we see, a range of hours and cost for each, and what is not included. It is for early scoping only, so you can decide if the budget fits before anyone writes a long document.

You get: one-page PDF · phases · hour and cost ranges
Step 2Scope of work

If the range works, we write the detailed scope: objective, tasks and deliverables per phase, decision gates, risks and terms. Every phase gets estimated hours and a not-to-exceed amount. You sign it before engineering starts.

You get: full scope of work · caps per phase · signature
Step 3Build in phases

You work directly with the engineer doing the work. Your project portal shows cost against the estimate, status and the phase timeline, updated as work happens. Decision gates mean you approve before the next big spend.

You get: weekly updates · portal access · monthly invoices with an hours report
Step 4Production handoff

DFM-final CAD, locked BOM, drawings, test reports and assembly documentation. We help you pick and onboard a contract manufacturer, and the project IP is yours on final payment.

You get: CAD and drawings · BOM · documentation · CM handoff
Pricing

Billed for real hours. Never above the cap.

Product development is iterative, so we estimate honestly instead of padding a fixed price. Each phase is billed for actual hours, up to its not-to-exceed amount. If a phase is trending over, you hear about it before it gets there, and going over needs your signature on a change order.

01 · Feasibility[34 to 40][$ cap]
02 · Design & prototype[68 to 80][$ cap]
03 · Validation[44 to 52][$ cap]
04 · Production release[24 to 28][$ cap]
Prototype parts, fabrication and certification fees are billed at cost, with your approval first.
Your project portal

See your project the way we do.

Every client gets a private link to a live page with cost against the estimate, on-track status and the timeline by phase. No account or password to manage, and no more asking for status.
